Boy fighting for life after falling from Marrickville apartment window

A six-year-old boy is fighting for life in a critical condition after falling about 10m to the ground from an apartment window in Sydney’s inner west.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Illawarra Road at Marrickville just before 1.45pm on Wednesday.

The boy fell from a third-storey window and was found unconscious at the scene.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and suffered injuries to his head and chest.

The six-year-old was sedated and transported to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Lucky Phrachanh said paramedics worked quickly to stabilise him.

“Initial reports that a child had fallen from the third storey were heartbreaking,” Phrachanh said.

“Our paramedics and medical team worked quickly to stabilise him before transporting.

“This was an alarming reminder that accidents can occur so please keep a watchful eye on your kids.”
