International football star Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that one of his newborn twins died.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, issued a joint statement on social media mourning the tragic loss.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away,” the statement on Ronaldo’s Instagram said.
“It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.”
“Only the birth of our baby girl fives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
The couple shared that they were expecting twins in October, and revealed in December they were expecting both a boy and a girl.
“Our baby boy, you are our angel,” the couple said on Monday.
“We will always love you.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez did not detail how their son died and asked for privacy while they grieve.
Their daughter survived childbirth, they said.

Ronaldo is already a father to four other children, including a pair of fraternal twins.
Ronaldo’s first child with Rodriguez, Alana Martina, was born in November 2017.
He is also father to fraternal twins Eva and Mateo, whom he welcomed via a surrogate in June 2017.
The doting dad also shares his son, Cristiano Jr., 11, with a former partner who has never been publicly named.
Condolences for Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United tweeted their support for the grieving football player.
“Your pain is our pain, @Cristiano,” the club said.
“Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
“The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the Premier League are with you and your family, Cristiano,” a tweet from the English Premier League reads.
