* The coalition is now the election favourite in the betting market, being at $1.85 to win government, while Labor has drifted out to $1.90, according to Sportsbet.

WHAT IS MAKING NEWS:

* Electoral rolls have closed ahead of the poll. The rolls closed at 8pm on Monday.

* Labor has continued to seize on comments about Medicare from Anne Ruston, who will take over as health minister should the coalition win office.

* Scott Morrison has admitted he misspoke during comments about the JobSeeker rate, but did not comment on whether he was out of touch.

* The coalition’s David Littleproud and Labor’s Julie Collins will face off in an agriculture debate at the National Press Club.
